A stalwart friend!

I first laid eyes on Tony Vickers way back in 1966. He was breezing down Ashok Marg, past St Xaviers', on his dabangg maroon AJS.
A few weeks later I spot our guy laying down the law (single-handedly!) with a couple of tough guys who had been pestering some young ladies.

Later on, I came to know him closely through our mutual friend Martin Gillespie. When these two got together they were always a joy to be with, as they recounted their many fishing trips in those times when "No Fishing" boards were practically unknown.
And after talking about FISH, what's more natural than to talk about FOOD?
Tony and Martin shared a fondness for all the standard Anglo-Indian fare − ball curry, pepper fry, and Irish stew. I would just salivate at the thought of those delicacies and wonder when I'd get a chance to gourmandise on those dishes.

Anyway, all good things must come to an end, all things must pass.
So, let me bid Tony a fond farewell, for all his trusted friendship through all the time I knew him.

Farewell, friend!
